Excellence in Nursing Awards

We would like to announce the 4th Annual Excellence in Nursing Awards. There are 3 awards showcasing excellence in nursing practice by Theta Epsilon Chapter members. These awards are designed to align with the mission statement of Sigma Theta Tau International: scholarship, leadership and service. Self-nominations/applications will be open until June 7, 2022. Awards will be presented at the June STTI meeting.
Nursing Excellence in Scholarship: Research, Education, and Practice
This award highlights a project in either the academic or practice setting which demonstrates exceptional applicability to practice. The needs assessment, design, implementation and current progress/results of the project are meaningful and can be readily applied in the designated setting.
Joyce DeGennaro Memorial Nursing Excellence in Leadership: Scholarship, Education and Practice
The recipient of this award is one who displays exceptional leadership characteristics in the realm of scholarship, education and/or practice. This is a nurse who is passionate about what he/she is doing; inspires others; leads by example; and whose work will have ongoing impact.
Nursing Excellence in Service: Novice to Competent Practitioner
This award highlights an individual, 18 months-3 years post licensure, who exhibits excellence in practice in either the community or hospital setting. As a new graduate, this novice nurse demonstrates progression through advanced beginner to competent practitioner. This competency is exhibited by mastery in deliberate planning and organization; execution of care; and critical thinking. This individual is motivated by the desire to provide exceptional client/patient care.
